Tutu Wunku

"Tutu" is the word for Arhuaca backpack in the Ikun language. Tutu Wunku is our interpretation of this traditional backpack, hand-woven in Scorpion Cotton, a species native to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, which was also used by the Tayrona to weave their traditional clothing, backpacks and perform spiritual rituals.

Our version has two "gazas" (straps) designed to be worn as a tote on the shoulder or as a backpack on the back. This design was developed together with our weavers from the Iku, Wiwa and Kogui communities in the Sierra.

Tutu Wunku includes hand-made details in ceramic fired at high temperatures, which gives it strength and durability.
