Mini Aku

MINI AKU is our miniature version of the Tutu Iku. "Tutu" means backpack in the Ikun language, spoken by the Iku indigenous community, commonly known as Arhuaca, who live in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. MINI AKU is handwoven in wool by Iku women and finished in natural leather with cotton cord in our leather workshop in Medellin.

Each MINI AKU with symbolism is unique, as the woven figures, patterns and color combinations depend exclusively on the creativity of the artisan who creates it. The woven figures represent elements of the cosmogony of the Iku culture, so each one has a special meaning.

Characteristics:

- Slow-paced artisanal process: The artisans take around 15 days to complete the process, from obtaining the wool to spinning and weaving.
